I do not simply use a generic auspicious day from a calendar — I analyse the Tithi (lunar day), Vara (weekday), Nakshatra (lunar mansion), Yoga, Karana, and the positions of the Moon, Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn, and I match all of these to the specific birth chart of the person for whom the Muhurta is being selected. A Muhurta that is generally auspicious but conflicts with your Ascendant lord or natal Moon is not truly auspicious for you specifically. This is the difference between classical Muhurta selection and calendar-based date picking.
